On 19th-14th October 2009, within the Comenius project four students: Anna Łeń and Weronika Grabar from year Va, Ola Tomaszewska from year VIa and Kinga Jasica from year VIcvisited Peterborough, England. They were in three teachers' care: Mrs Małgorzata Tomaszewska (The head), Mrs Justyna Krzywańska (an English teacher, a school project coordinator) and Mrs Krystyna Lukas (an ICT teacher).

During the visit the pupils lived with English host families and took part in lessons and classes together with the English children they stayed with. They also used to spend the spare time together. They had an unique opportunity to improve their communication skils and experience English way of living. They were a part of Orton Wistow Primary School community..

This time gave them a chance to meet peers from the partner schools in Budapest (Hungary) and Tricarico (Italy).

The teaching staff spent lots of time discussing differences and similarities in their educational systems and ways of teaching. They exchanged experience and worked on guidelines necessary for further cooperation - the project is due two years.

They patched up the Logo competition. The winning logo is designed by a student from Tricatico. It is placed on our project's website.
Pupils from all partner schools presented the information about their countries, culture, history, traditions, customs, cuisines etc.

Although the stay was not long in hospitable England we managed to visit Peterborough and London. In Peterborough a charming lady guide showed us round the Peterborough huge, gothic, cathedral. Next we had some time to walk around the city and... buy souvenirs.

We started our trip to Londyn in Royal Observatory in Greenwich. We couldn't resist taking some photos in Prime Meridian of the world where you can stand with one leg on the western hemisphere and with another one on the eastern one. We took a look at famous clock which shows the Greenwich Mean Time.
Next Mrs Justyna Krzywańska 'kidnapped' the Polish team for the express trip to the centre of London. Although we have only managed to see Tower Bridge and Tower of London it was worth it. Additional attraction was travelling by red double-decker and sightseeing from its board.

For some of us it was the first journey by plane.

It was sad to go back. Luckily we've got lots of great memories and... our photos.
